RUN, RUN, RUN!!

On Saturday I completed my new farthest run and ran 10 miles!! On the rainiest day of the year. Made me decide that getting rain is way overrated. I can't seem to stay out of puddles so my feet took a little shower. BUT I RAN 10 MILES!!!!!!!!! SUCH AN AMAZING FEELING!!! If that feels fantastic, I can't wait to finish my first half marathon in March!!

I ran a mile by myself and then ran a few miles with my neighbor Todd who can't quite decide if he's going to get into the running business, but he did it with me anyways. He even offered to tie my jacket around his waist. My jacket was BABY GIRL BLUE ;) And then I ran some on my own and then coach Missy took over and ran the last 3.5 miles with me.
My run wasn't really all that rainy when I was running with Todd until the part I ran with Missy. She definitely got the short end of the stick.
But did I tell you I ran 10 MILES?! ;) It felt so fantastic!!! And since I had running buddies it went by so quick! I love to run with a buddy! WAYYYY better then running solo forever.

Also this week, I've learned this week, that if I don't go running I go CrAzY!! So as pathetic as it sounds I pulled my thinner thigh muscle. And no it wasn't from running. I went overboard on my jumping jacks and wall sits. So it started to really bother me on Saturday's run but I iced and put some gel stuff on it and that helped. But then when I ran on Tuesday it hurt SO bad. Like crying bad. So unfortunately I've been resting the past couple days. I've had too much energy and have been eating way too much. I'm praying on Saturday when I run it won't bother me to much and I don't have to rest longer then a couple days! I love running!! I love the feeling of accomplishing something great. I love the way I can think about my life's problems and clear my head. Running is the best!!

Quest for Happiness

We are all on the pursuit of happiness. And some of us are farther ahead then others. Some are miserable inside. Some are full of pure joy. Some are happy and sad. Some just don't know what to think.
Life is tough. But ultimately it's preparing me and you, and everyone else to return to live with our Heavenly Father. All he wants is for us to do our best and our Savior will pick up our slack because he atoned for our sins. He felt every pain every sorrow every heartbreak we've ever felt. And right now for me, that's a lot he had to feel in order to have compassion on me. Sometimes I feel like throwing in the towel, but as soon as I pray I know I'll be able to get through even the next hour of my day. I, like everyone else I suppose, want to be happy. Not the kind of happy that lasts for 20 minutes and then goes away. The happy that stays. So I'm going to do something about it.
I am thankful that I can pray anytime and anywhere because my Heavenly Father hears them and wants to help me.
I am thankful for the ability to run and work out my body in a way that gives me healthy endorphin's and helps me blow of some steam.
I am thankful my parents love me enough to not kick me out for being a big brat.
I am thankful for the Book of Mormon and the Bible. They go hand in hand. When I read them it's like the hole inside me is closing.
I am thankful for the relationship I have with God that is constantly growing when I am down on my knees and keeping his commandments.
I am thankful I made it through today with minimal tears.

Week 6

Week 6.
Today is the start of week 6 of 12 weeks of training for me. I am training for the Phoenix Half Marathon in March. Which is 13.1 miles!
Yesterday was a new milestone for me! Or as I like to say, I redefined my impossible. I finished my longest run (so far) of 8 miles!
I give yesterday's run a BIG thumbs up! Missy ran the first 6 miles with me! It felt so good to have a buddy with me to help me stay paced, and just have someone to talk to. My run actually flew by, and didn't drag on!
Running with a friend? Definitely the best!
